They save the café once, with the name they use for it and a city or a point they already know. If the weather call fails, the app says the call failed instead of guessing sun.

Someone with a regular café, deciding about the outside table on the way there. They already know where they are going. The app only answers whether to sit outside.
Which APIs
Two APIs, both on the Weather list.
Terrace Weather is “Terrace open/closed verdict for restaurants, from the weather forecast.” No key. This is the yes or no.
Pirate Weather is a “Free weather API with forecast data similar to Dark Sky.” No key. Use it for the next few hours at the same place, so the yes or no has rain and temperature next to it.
The source list does not list a price for Terrace Weather. Pirate Weather’s description says it is free.
How to build the first version
- Let them save one café: a name, and a location they already have.
- On open, ask Terrace Weather whether that terrace is open or closed. If the call fails, show that it failed.
- Ask Pirate Weather for the same place and put the next few hours beside the answer.
- Keep it on one screen they can read without scrolling: café name, sit outside or stay inside, and the short reason.
- Let them edit the saved café. Store it on the device. Skip accounts for this version.
How it could make money
Charge once. People open this on the way to the café, and a subscription is more commitment than a weather check. Leave ads off the yes or no, and do not sell the saved café.
What to leave out
A week of charts, marine forecasts, hail history, and a national weather-service dashboard. This app only needs today’s terrace answer and the next few hours of rain and temperature.
